Cycling in the Pyrenees
The Pyrenees have
much to offer for every type of cyclist. There are beautiful
valleys to explore, and mountains to conquer. Au Pied des
Pyrenees serves as a great base for all of your cycling trips.
As a cyclist, you can try out the many stages around Estadens,
such as the " Col de Peyresourde (1.569m)” ...
“Col
d'Aspin”... “Col du Tourmalet”, “Col de Portet d’Aspet”, well
known in the Tour de France.
Both holiday
cyclists and mountain bikers can find their way here. Very
little traffic, good roads, the peace & nature are the ideal
ingredients for beautiful cycling trips.

Fishing in the Pyrenees
The trout fishing opportunities in the Haute-Garonne
are among the best in Southwest France, and very diverse. You
can try your luck in small mountain streams, fast flowing rivers
or in mountain lakes. You can catch both brown & rainbow trout.
You can request a permit for 2 weeks fishing whilst here, valid
from the 1st of June to the 30th of September. This permit
allows you to fish in the Garonne and her tributary rivers, and
the other rivers in other parts of the Haute Garonne.
Other activities....
The skies above the Pyrenees are magnificent for
parapenting. Also rafting and canoeing
on the River Garonne or canyon clambering will
give you a pleasant holiday feeling.
Area's for golfing (whit 18 or more holes) you can find in Amé-lie-les-Bains,
Font-Romeu, Carcasonne, bagnères-de Bigorre, Lourdes,
Albi, Salies-de-Béarn en Biarritz.
