Estadens, situated at 470m, a little village with a population of 450 inhabitans and a mountain-sports playground nestled to the foot of the Midi Pyrenees, South West France.
As the crow flies, the Pyrenees stretch for 430 km, sea to sea, forming a
natural boundary between France and Spain. Had you sufficient time and
energy, you could follow the GR10 walking trail that bucks and twists
from Hendaye beside the Bay of Biscay on France's Atlantic coast all
the way to Banyuls beside the Mediterranean.
Discover the pureness of the mountains. We are located in the Midi-Pyrenees
whit uniques views of the snowy mountain tops of the Pyrenees.
◦ catch a first glimpse of snow-capped mountains from Pau's stylish
boulevard des Pyrénées;
◦ mingle whit the faithful at Lourdes, one of the world's most important
pilgrimage sites;
◦ trek in the Parc National des Pyrénées, one of western Europe's wildest
areas;
◦ trundle along in the open-topped Petit Train d'Artouste at a constant
2000m.;
◦ gasp at the magnificant wrap-around sweep of the Cirque de Gavarnie;
◦ Pic du Midi de Bigorre" (alt. 2.877m.).... Lament the fact or love it,
the Pic du Midi, until recently almost exclusively the preserve of
astronomers and scientists, is now accessible to all by cable car.
Leaving form the ski resort of La Mongie (1800m), it gives access to one
of the Pyrenees most soul-stirring panoramas.
